ABOUT
Ed Schmecht is a band from Berlin, Germany. A friend said we play Space-pop, slow-motion softcore indie funk – a bit of instrumental Mac DeMarco and a touch of Stephen Malkmus – the trio brings a pleasant pop lightness with psychedelic slant and Dutch lyrics to the stage.
The trio are Niels, vocalist, guitarist, and synth player, Manuel (Jay) on drums and percussion, and William Emmanuel (Noel) on bass. Our songs are each named after a color and explore topics such as equality, raising kind children, and climate change. We founded the band at the beginning of 2023.
MUSIC
In 2024 we will release our first album titled „Kleur“, which means color in Dutch. The album consists of 11 songs, ranging from slow indie funk to more psychedelic rock moments.
The album will be available digitally on all big streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp. For now, you can listen to our single „Denim“ on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.:
